Soil Moist Natural is a grafted starch polymer designed to reduce plant watering by 50% and last in the soil for an entire season. The organic starch in Soil Moist Natural is derived from corn. Soil Moist Natural is completely safe and biodegradable like the other Soil Moist polymer products. Soil Moist Natural will hold several hundred times its weight in tap water, and readily releases it back to the plant as the soil dries out.
Soil Moist has been developed to reduce the amount of water needed to maintain vigorous plants and other green goods. When mixed in the soil, the crystals will soften and swell as water is added and absorbed. When the potting system dries, the polymer will release its water to the plant. Soil Moist acts as a water reservoir--even during periods of drought the stored water is released to the plant. The expansion and retraction of the polymer during the watering cycle helps soil aeration, which is important to all plants.
Note: Soil Moist must be incorporated into the soil at the root level of the plant/green good. Do not top dress or place on the surface.

Broad Area Treatment - Flower Beds, Ornamental Gardens
Two methods available: sprinkle a small amount (1/2 tsp.) of Soil Moist in the plant hole, plant and cover with soil or apply one and one half pounds per 100 square feet of ground area. Spread the polymer and work into the soil at a depth of three to four inches.
Greenhouse - To use as a soil amendment, mix two pounds of Soil Moist Natural per cubic yard of soil. Make sure the polymer is thoroughly mixed for even disbursement. Best results in mixing are achieved when the polymer is incorporated into the soil in the dry crystal form.
Transplanting - Mix one ounce of Soil Moist Natural per 8-inches of rootball. Mix a majority of the polymer around the planting hole, mix balance with backfill. Do not amend the top two inches with polymer. Water liberally. Rate should be increased to four ounces per one foot of rootball in sandy soils.
