BuddyStone is a unique growing medium made from 100% recycled glass. It is the perfect substrate for hydroponics, aeroponics, aquaponics, aquascaping and green roof gardening. Use it to grow vegetables, herbs and flowering plants in soilless systems or with soil, letting BuddyStone serve as a soil conditioner. Engineered to create optimum, consistent growth, BuddyStone works in both indoor and outdoor gardens. It features a combination of big and small pore spaces that store the water, air and nutrients that plants need. The pores create the perfect balance of moisture absorption and drainage. The damp, highly aerated environment promotes hairy root growth, which results in more nutrient and water uptake. Roots adhere to the rough and irregular shape of BuddyStone, anchoring the plant for stability. BuddyStone doesn’t float when irrigated and can’t be compacted, which can damage roots. It can hold as much as 30% of its volume in water.
