Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss - Safe for Carnivorous Plants!
This fertilizer-free peat moss is the same kind used in our nursery and pre-made carnivorous plant mixes. We recommend it for Venus Flytraps, American Pitcher Plants, Australian Pitcher Plants, Bladderworts and most Sundews.
Rinsing the peat in distilled water prior to use is advisable. While we’ve seen no ill effects without rinsing, mineral content can vary from one bale to the next depending on the depth at which the peat was harvested.
Dry peat tends to be hydrophobic (water repellent), stirring the mixture while adding water can help speed up the rate of absorption.
