If you are looking for an organic, premium potting soil, you need Coast of Maine’s Bar Harbor Blend!
Coast of Maine has created this Bar Harbor Blend as an organic, all-purpose potting soil. This soil is rich, dark brown and full bodied. It is designed for re-potting house plants, planting hanging baskets, window boxes and all containers. The soil is made with lobster and aspen bark compost, long staple horticultural grade sphagnum peat moss and perlite. These ingredients help aid in the soil requiring less watering, which is a must have for your next planting project!

    Directions
    Instructions:
Follow These Few Simple Steps: Getting Ready: How much Bar Harbor Blend Potting Soil will you need? Pots: For a 4 inch pot, use 3 cups. For a 8 inch pot, use 3 dry quarts. For a 12 inch pot, use 8 dry quarts. Window Boxes: For a 24 x 6 x 6 inch, use 12 dry quarts. For a 36 x 6 x 6 inch, use 20 dry quarts. For a 48 x 6 x 6 inch, use 28 dry quarts. Hanging Baskets: For hanging baskets up to 16 inches, use 6 dry quarts. The above are approximations, as the actual amount of Potting Soil needed will depend on the size of your plant's rootball. Make sure your selected pot(s) have drainage holes. If you are combining different plants, make sure they are good companions (i.e. they like similar amounts of sun or shade and moisture conditions). Planting: Fill your container with potting soil and tamp down lightly to reduce total volume. Scoop out a hole in the soil for each plant deep enough so the top of the rootball will end up about 1 inch below the edge of the container. Remove the plants from their nursery pots and place in the holes. Add more potting soil until it is level all around your plants. Tamp everything down again gently with the flat of your palms. Water carefully to avoid disturbing the top layer of soil. Repeat watering several times until water drains from the bottom of the container. Maintenance: Container plants need to be regularly watered and occasionally fed. For best results, water only when the soil is slightly dry to the touch. Because Bar Harbor Blend is naturally dark in color, it may be hard to tell just by sight. Feed regularly with an organic plant food.
