    Description

    How is this product made?
This product is fully composted cattle manure. Our process begins by mixing up a recipe of raw manure and wheat straw. Wheat straw is added to increase organic matter content and help the compost reach the target temperature of 130 degrees Fahrenheit for a minimum of three days. During this time, compost is mixed repeatedly to add oxygen which speeds the composting process and helps maintain the proper temperature. This eliminates pathogens and weed seeds that exist in raw manure and wheat straw. After the composting process slows, the product is passed through a series of large screens to create a consistent product, cured for six months, and then hand screened and packaged to ensure high quality.
    What is Compost?
Our compost contains plant food such as slow-release organic nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace amounts of micronutrients. In addition, it contains a high percentage of stable organic matter w
hich amends the soil in beneficial ways; organic matter increases water infiltration, soil aeration, soil structure, and provides a food source (carbon) for soil microbes. Cured compost is colonized by beneficial microbial populations that mimic the soil microbiome and can inoculate poor soils (such as ground that had its topsoil removed). In short, compost increases the health of your soil, and healthy soil makes healthy plants.
What can this be used for?
Our compost can be used in gardens, greenhouses, lawns, flowerbeds, raised garden beds, on potted and house plants, and fake plants and flowers (do not expect to see your fake plants respond favorably…or at all). Our compost may also be used to create potting soil mixtures for seed starts.
    How to use?
Open the bag, sprinkle a dusting around the plant. Apply compost up to an 1/8 of an inch deep. Fertilize house plants once or twice a year. For gardens, mix compost into the upper two inches of soil before planting seeds or seedlings. Compost can be sprinkled around the base of pre-existing perennials.
    Is this product certified organic?
This compost has not gone through the certification process to be certified organic, however, it passes the requirements to be used in certified organic systems. Our product has been used with success on organic orchards and vineyards for over ten years.
