    Description

Handmade Coconut Husk Coir Rope Fiber 100% Natural Eco Friendly Twisted String
    Welcome,
•The fibre extracted from the husk of the coconut known as coir has been the raw material for making yarns and ropes in Sri Lanka and some parts of southern India since ancient times. The word coir has derived from the Malayalam word kayar, which means the code. Coir yarns have been in use for so long due to its relative waterproof quality and resistance to damage by seawater. In Sinhala language, coconut fibres are known as pol kohu, and the yarns made of it as kohu lanu.
•Coir rope was most importantly used in boats and construction of traditional houses. The coir rope making process is a lengthy process lasting as long as two months or more to produce a single batch of ropes. Coir comes from the husk of the coconut.
    Uses of coir
Typically, white coir spun into yarn is used in the manufacture of rope and, thanks to its strong resistance to salt water, in fishing nets. Brown coir is stronger and more widely used than white coir. Applications include sacking, brushes, doormats, rugs, mattresses, insulation panels and packaging.
    Thank You !
    Have a nice day..
