Description
Potassium Polyacrylate, aka Ag-SAP, it is one type of superabsorbent polyacrylates can be used as water retaining agent in agriculture and won't cause soil salinization, different from the cheaper to make Sodium Polyacrylate. Even though it has many uses, this is specially made for agriculture use, please do not use for anything else.Potassium Polyacrylate can absorb hundreds times it's original weight in purified water.
Potassium polyacrylate maximizes plant growth by reducing plant stress. It also absorbs and releases soil nutrients, water-soluble fertilizer(at much lower absorbing ratio compare to pure water) and chemicals in the same manner as water, creating a healthy microenvironment in the plant root zone. The result is faster germination, quicker emergence of seeds, consistent growth and higher, better-quality yields of edibles with less water and fewer inputs.
Smaller Potassium Polyacrylate granules absorb water faster than larger ones, larger ones can be broken down into smaller pieces after absorbed water.
You can mix Potassium Polyacrylate with soil to increase the soil's capacity for holding water, with water gel form which stay in soil for up to 2 years, they are bio degradable.
Potassium Polyacrylate can be used in seed coating, grow seedlings, planting crops, topdressing for crops, planting/transplanting trees, flower transport etc. Great for transporting plants grown in aquaponics/hydroponics, to keep the roots hydrated.
Potassium Polyacrylate does not ‘bind’ water tightly. The granules release just the right amount of water in response to a plant’s root suction. There is no waterlogging or other ill effects caused by ‘free’ water filling air cavities in the soil.
